Early Childhood Music Education at First Lutheran Preschool & Kindergarten
Our preschool music is fast -paced, fun filled series of music classes for our students once a week in your child’s class. They will sing songs, play singing games, dance, explore instruments and environmental sounds, and learn rhythmic finger plays, chants, and poems all in a social active developmentally appropriate atmosphere. Music education contributes to a child’s growth in every area- physical, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual- but most importantly, its just plain fun!
About the Instructor:
Omaldo Perez joined the staff of First Lutheran Of Richmond beach in October of 2009 as Director of Music Ministries. Mr. Perez has been a minister of Music in churches across the United States, where he has had the opportunity to direct children’s choirs of all ages. He has been a guest speaker at several conferences for Christian educators in the greater New York area. As a teacher, Mr. Perez has worked both in the classroom and privately and has over 15 years of pedagogical experience. Mr. Perez assisted with musical direction at the Sunshine Kids Club, enrichment preschool program of music and art for babies and toddlers in New York City. He also founded and directed Stage-Ready, a performing arts program for young people in the Bronx. Mr. Perez recieved his degree in piano performance from Brooklyn College (CUNY), where he studied under Michael Rogers.
